practicing workforce. More than 19,000 surgeons and physicians were surveyed in over 27 specialties. and

85% of the surgeons who were surveyed had been sued.

31% were for complications and 28% for delayed diagnosis.

58% of the surveyed respondents said

that they were very surprised about the litigation, and 89% did not think it was warranted. 33% said that they

spent more than 40 hours on defense but 33% also did say that they spent zero time in court.
