When I first started the podcast eight years ago, I wanted to have my good friend, Bob Gettle,

0:07.4

on the show. He was the original co-host that I imagined. When I first came up with the idea

0:11.9

of this podcast, I was like, oh man, me and Bob, this is going to be awesome. He's super

0:17.6

funny. He's a therapist. We're really good friends. He always has interesting things to say.

0:24.0

He's not a drug addict of any sort that's going to interfere with his ability to come on the

0:29.3

podcast. I asked him about it and Bob was like, no, are you kidding me? That's stupid. Who

0:35.1

wants to do a pocket? No, it's not exactly what he said. But he said no. Why did you say no

0:39.7

back then anyway? I don't know if I have anything worthwhile to say. To say, yeah. Well, I don't

0:46.0

have anything worthwhile to say either. That's never stopped me from making a podcast. You just have

0:51.2

more scruples when it comes to that sort of thing. Bob was like, nah, not really interested.

0:56.8

And then I was like, oh man, what do I, I had this whole thing in my head like, well,

1:01.2

it's got to be me and Bob. And then I, because I didn't want to do it by myself. And then I thought,

1:05.1

well, jeez, who else would do it? And I thought, well, I'm Berto. He's not a therapist, but he likes

1:10.1

to talk a lot. So maybe he'd like to do it with me. And so I asked him, Berto, and he ended up

1:15.6

being a great co-host and then leads as well. And the rest is history. But periodically, I would,

1:21.6

you know, Bob and I would hang out the original person I had in mind for this podcast. And I'd be

1:26.0

like, man, you should come on the podcast. And he'd be like, oh, yeah, maybe. And then finally,

1:30.8

we were able, we were able to lock down today. I can't believe that you're here, Bob. I'm so happy.

1:37.2

Oh, thank you. So nice to be here. Yeah. So I want to talk with you. Since you're a therapist,

1:43.8

I often have a lot of Yahoo's on the podcast that know nothing about our profession. And so

1:49.9

it's wonderful to have an actual clinician that we can, we can, you know, talk about shop stuff,

1:55.2

because I know a lot of therapists listen to this. This is the psychology and Seattle podcast.
