Hey, welcome back to the How to Barbecue Right podcast. I'm Malcolm Reed and I'm joined by my lovely wife for

Shell as always. Shell has it going this week. It's going good. Having a good week so far. It's

been kind of rainy. Rainy and we're supposed to get some cold weather but it could actually

warm back up a little to me. I mean it's chilly this morning. I like it. I made Michael wear jeans to school. It's the first day in jeans for the year. He did not like it. It's almost October. It's time to put on a pair of jeans, I guess. Yeah, I told him you're going to wear jeans for a couple months now, buddy. I think his official uniform is like those underarmor activity shorts is what I call them.

And a t-shirt. And a t-shirt, yeah. That's all he wants to wear when he's not wearing baseball uniform. It's time to break out the jeans and the boots. I'm glad, man, I've been working on hunting land. I'm excited. Hunting season's almost here. That means it's time to take a little break from barbecue, right? Yeah, I'm ready. Ready for a break?

Yeah, I think we've been more busy this year than we have any year. It's been, man, this year has. This year has flown by it. It seems like we were, you know, talking about getting ready for Memphis and May, and then next thing you know, it's time to start thinking about Christmas decorating Thanksgiving and all that. we've got Halloween coming up next month, so I guess after Halloween you can officially start your winter wonderland.

Yeah, November 1st.

Is that when the decorations come out of the attic?

Yes.

I can't wait.

It's the most magical time of the year.

You know, when you sit down and kind of make your schedule out for the year,

which we have to do because we have to plan to, you know, record a turkey video

so it goes out for the week before Thanksgiving and things like that.

But when you sit down and make your schedule out, you know, a few months in advance

and you see it's the end of the year, it really kind of brings things into perspective how close we are to Christmas and New Year. How many shopping days left, do you know? I don't know. People say that yet. Yeah, they were starting to say that like in July. Oh, really? Yeah. It's got to be, I mean,

it feels like it was just July. About 80 something, maybe, 80 something like that. It ain't many. Yeah. You better get on to Christmas shopping. I hadn't even thought about that. Hey, no, they're already breaking out decorations and stuff at the Decom store. Oh, Hoppy Lobby's had decorations for months.

It wasn't even the Labor Day yet, and they had the pumpkins out, and now I'm starting to see the Christmas stuff. I mean, come on. It's a little much, yeah. Little soon. Yeah. Lois is breaking, getting Walmart, getting ready for the Christmas section. I'm saying it's a little much, a little soon. It's a little soon. I just hate it because they break down the grilling section.
