| 0:00.0 | Welcome to Malcolm Reed's How to Barbecue Right, a podcast where we talk about barbecue, share recipes, and discuss all things delicious. And now here's your host, Malcolm and Rochelle Reed. |
| 0:15.3 | Hey, welcome back to the How to Barbecue Right podcast. This is episode, hey, number 15. I think it's 15. I don't know. But yeah, I'm your host, Malcolm Reed, joined by my lovely wife, Rochelle. Shell, what's happening today? Not much, Malcolm. You feel it okay? You're into it? You're ready to go? I know we've been on vacation, but. |
| 0:34.6 | Yeah. Yeah, I'm ready. I'm back in action. I'm the one that's ready to get back to work. You tried to get me, you talked me into doing these podcasts for the past two weeks when I said, nope, it's break time. I've got to recharge and refuel, and man, it went by too fast. It did. It really, really did. |
| 0:35.7 | We had a good time, though. |
| 0:37.9 | We took Michael to the beach. |
| 1:10.8 | We stayed down there about a week, and we, you know, soaked up some sun and put her toes in the sand and all that stuff. Whatever you do, is it toes in the sand or ass in the sand? I think it's a thing. Yeah, I did it all, though. I put it all in the sand. |
| 1:12.8 | But yeah, no, that was fun. |
| 1:17.8 | And then we came back home and he had a little camp he had to go to down in Oxford. So we had, I tell everybody, we played BBC here at the house for a whole week. |
| 1:24.4 | PCB. |
| 1:25.1 | PCB, is that what it was? |
| 1:26.5 | Yeah, Panama City Beach. Anyway, I was acting like I was on spring break for a whole week. And that was fun. I think Kroger thinks we may have some problems. We went to the store every day and we just bought a buggy full of beer and meat to grill. And so... |
| 1:42.3 | And came home and did some swimming. |
| 1:45.1 | That's it. Grilled something every evening. And then we did some swimming and drank lots of beer. And man, it was fun. That went by way too fast. Yeah, that one really good. I got you doing some wooing. I mean, we didn't get crazy. We'd had no T-shirt contest or none of that or funnel contest. I should have, man, I could have made a funnel. |
| 1:43.1 | Have ever told you, I could make it back in college? We made beer bongs, I guess people call them, we call them funnels. We'd go to AutoZone, get us one of the mobile funnels and get us on PBC2, but man, we, yeah. I've seen those home-like dollars for. That's been a long time since I've tried to. |
| 2:18.5 | That's original PCB right there. |
| 2:20.9 | I bet you could funnel a lot. |
| 2:22.4 | Yeah. |
| 2:23.5 | I used to could. |
| 2:24.9 | Six was about at one time. |
| 2:27.7 | What even at one time? |
| 2:30.0 | Like they would start pouring it and fill it up? |
| 2:32.7 | I'm not talking anymore about that. I never could fuddle. Even my haydye. I can drink beer, but I can't fuddle. Well, anyway, so we did that. Then our buddy Shane Lynn from Towns and Spices had some people over to his cat. He's had some cabins over on the White River. Mount Olive, Arkansas, I think it was where it was called. It was the middle of nowhere. I mean, I didn't know you could drive. It was about three and a half hours from the house. And we were up in the mountains. I mean, it was beautiful. Got to do some trout fishing. We brought a few trout back and cooked them for dinner when we got back home. And that was, you know, that was kind of the end of our vacation, I guess. And, man, it was nice to go up there for the weekend. You and Michael caught some fish. We went fishing both days. The only thing, it was so, it's been so hot around here. I mean, it really was a great time to take some time off because it's too hot to do videos. Our season kind of runs. We start picking it. We take a little time off in January. Because, I mean, we work seven days a week most of the time. So we take a little time off in January. And then things start slowly picking up in February, March, by April, we're... Oh, yeah. We're... Balls to the wall. Until June. And then right in the middle of June, it starts heating up. You get them dog days of summer. And I mean, it's hot in the south. So, that's about time for us to... It's a good time for us to wind down. Yeah. Contests stop around here because it's so hot. You know, everybody kind of just takes a little break. Everybody's on vacation and stuff. So we take one too. And then we pick back up and finish out the year because we work all the way up until right before Christmas. Yeah. That's, that's going to be busy this fall for sure. |
