These four parables are found in Mark 4:21-34 and they include the parable of the lamp on a stand, the parable of the measuring scales, the parable of growing seed, and the parable of the mustard seed. 0:05.8	biblically about everything. Today we're explaining four of Jesus'
0:12.1	parables. This is going to be a very short introduction.
0:14.4	Sometimes my introductions are longer, not today. This is the Mark series part 14. We're going
0:19.6	verse by verse through the whole Gospel of Mark. We do theology, apologetics, deep stuff, simple
0:25.3	application, all of the above. And last week we talked about one parable that was like
0:30.6	the key for unlocking the parables of Jesus.
0:33.7	We're going to take some things we learned from last week.
0:35.9	We're going to apply it to four more parables of Jesus because that's what Mark does.
0:39.6	Mark shares this parable of Jesus that's the key and then it shares four more obviously
0:43.8	we're supposed to use the key on the other four so let's just dig right in let's
0:48.3	start on the first one it's mark 4 verse 21 it says and he was saying to them a lamp is not brought to be put under a basket is it or under a bed
0:58.4	Is it not brought to be put on the lamp stand for nothing is hidden except to be revealed, nor has anything been secret but that it
1:05.8	would come to light. If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear. That phrase at the end,
1:10.6	anyone has ears to hear, let him hear, we've already found that from the
1:14.0	parable to soils that not everyone has ears to hear, right?
1:17.0	Because they've got spiritual issues between them and God.
1:19.4	They're darkened because they've rejected what God has revealed, so they can't understand what God is revealing.
1:24.6	It's kind of an interesting dynamic.
1:26.8	So if you have ears to hear, you can hear it.
1:30.0	The basic idea of this first parable about the lamp and how it's not supposed to be
