Summary

Suicide is a big issue that most of us haven't thought about very carefully. I'm not going to pretend to have all the answers, or easy answers. But what I can do is analyze some of the issues related to suicide from a biblical worldview and try to point you toward biblical help. I need to offer a disclaimer though. Some of what I share here is going to be based not just on the plain teaching of scripture but on my own experience as a counselor, friend and human being. I want you to consider and weigh what I share rather than thinking everything out of my mouth is clearly taught in scripture. My goal isn't to say that I have figured it all out but to offer some clarity and some help to those who deal with their own suicidal thoughts or the life-devastating impact of the suicide of a loved one. 0:05.8	biblically about everything. Christians really do need to think more deeply about the topic of suicide and that's what we're going to be doing today for the live stream.
0:19.0	Trying to think more deeply on the topic of suicide, I'm not going to try to depress anybody here today.
0:25.0	We have joy in Christ, we have hope in Christ, and there are real answers in Christ.
0:30.0	But I want to take this complex issue that we often gloss over in my opinion.
0:37.0	I'm not blaming you.
0:38.0	I'm not trying to accuse you of anything.
0:39.0	I'm just saying I see it happen a lot and I want to tackle it with more depth and look at more nuance. it And many of you know what I'm talking about. We've had not only the general increase of suicide,
0:54.4	but we've had in the news recently,
0:56.5	even pastors committing suicide.
0:58.6	And so this is hopefully going to be helpful.
1:01.9	I'm not going to pretend I can fix things for people,
1:05.8	but I'm hoping this will help. This will be an aid, this will be an assistance for individuals.
1:10.4	People who have suicidal ideation or suicidal thoughts, that's obviously someone who I have suicidal ideation or suicidal thoughts.
1:13.0	That's obviously someone who I'm thinking about is I make this video content.
1:17.0	I want to help you self-evaluate a little bit differently and evaluate the situation you're in
1:22.0	and the things going through your own mind.
1:24.1	I'm hoping this will help, but I pray that God gives me wisdom and I do this like with a sense of fear
1:28.8	because I realize that some people are like on the cliff's edge and they're just a small breeze will push them over so to speak.
1:37.0	And so I'm fearful and I've been praying for you and I hope that you will step away from the edge so to speak and I hope that what I share helps
1:48.0	and doesn't harm because I realize how big of a deal all this is but I also want to help other people. I want to help people who
1:54.4	are dealing with fallout, people who have loved ones who have committed suicide
