The Japanese team behind this seemingly impossible feat described their work recently in the

journal Nature.

After harvesting skin cells from the tails of two male mice, they converted these cells

to what are known as induced pluripotent stem cells.

These are cells that are able to differentiate into any type of tissue in the body.
