1912, aboard the Oceanliner RMS Titanic. A rocket, a white distress signal,

soars into the moonless sky above the injured ocean liner as Isidore Strauss

hurries along the boat deck. The co-owner of the Macy's department store grips the hand of his wife Ida tightly.

She wears a full-length mink coat over her life jacket, but she still shivers in the cold.

Behind the couple, Ida's made Ellen trails

anxiously in her employer's wake. The 67 year old businessman and his wife

have been on vacation in the French Ribierra for the past three months.

And when the time came to return home to New York, they chose to travel on the largest and safest

ocean liner in the Titanic is going down but there aren't enough lifeboats for everyone on board and

Isidor is desperate to get his wife and her maid's safety.

All right down here I think they're loading those boats.

Isidor leads his wife and made toward the front of the ship.

There is already a noticeable tilt to the deck beneath their feet.

it's being played in very different circumstances. A small crowd of fellow first-class

passengers surrounds Lifeboat Number 8.
