Summary

We all have fear. The question is: Is fear holding you back?

In today's show, we're mixing it up with my friends Tim Ferriss, Brené Brown, Daymond John, Mel Robbins, and Neil Strauss. We take a look back at how they think about fear, some strategies to deal with it, and how we can play through it.

In this episode,

  • Fear isn’t all bad. There's a healthy level of fear, and Daymond John shares how it's helped motivate him in business.
  • My man Tim Ferriss talks what he does to deflate his biggest fears by imagining the “worst case scenario”
  • The best way to overcome your fear is by risking failure. Every time you choose to get in the arena and battle your fear, you grow stronger and more confident.  As Neil Strauss says, “Uncertainty is a very confident place to be.”

Enjoy!

This is a remix, and it's a remix around a concept that I think is

0:59.6

critical and that concept is fear. Now, this may be a challenging idea. Stay with me here, but I believe

1:05.1

that for most of us, fear is one of the biggest barriers to achieving our goals.

1:11.1

And I also believe that that barrier is self-imposed.

1:14.3

The truth is that so many times we actually don't even try to achieve our goals because,

especially life, big, big goals, the ones that actually matter at the end of your life,

1:25.2

because we were too afraid to even try.

1:28.3

Now, I'm not saying this to scold or to criticize, but actually to vocalize the thing that a lot of us either are aware of and suppress or we're not even aware of.

1:38.3

We have to work as a community of creators and I would even, I'd say, as a culture to illuminate the fact

1:47.0

that that fear isn't often recognized, that self-limiting belief is not an actual thing

that dominates our ability or lack of ability to achieve or have the things that we want in our
