so for those of you who who are in that and we said one of the things we said was that new subscribers

would definitely get their questions it would get their questions answered so we might as well

start there so uh from will mulloy new subscriber here kevin to rant shop blocking and help defense

among other things have been outrageous since he joined the warriors can you think of a more

impactful help defender that played primarily as a wing in mb history and how much of this

improvement do you credit to the warriors defensive composition composition well i'll take the first

part i think the other two candidates that come to mind for me are lebron james in his heyday with

the mayami he and scottie pippin pippin was not neither of these guys really are quite just the

straight up shop blockers that derand is but lebron i mean even now you'll see it when he's in the area

guys are just like kind of scared to go up around him and i mean and you would see that especially

when he used to be the athlete that he was guides always felt hip around the room even if he didn't

always jump and then pippin wasn't necessarily shop blocker he was good shop blocker for a small

forward in his era but just his help instincts especially also you have to remember and he played

in an era where there was a legal defense and so if you're going to double team you had to either

double team hard or in theory you'd be called for legal defense so he had much more ground cover

as a help defender and he also had to avoid getting called for legal defense when he would kind of

help out in the lane maybe more than was technically allowed for so those are the two that really

come to mind for me i think pippin gets a lot of discussion for his on ball work on it he was

certainly quite good there but i think actually as an off-ball player he was even better and then
