Hi, it's Brian Rose from London Real. I'm here in Bunhill

graveyard next to the grave of John Bunyan.

This guy was the author of Pilgrim's Progress,

which is a very old school book you might have been remember reading as a kid and he died and was buried here in 1688

which is much younger than when America was born so it's nice having a bit of history

always around you here in London and it's also nice to feature another writer

on this week's London Real and her name is Maggie

Steve Potter and she's an American girl in her early 30s and she's known for

writing some of these urban and youth novels.

People kind of compare her with those of the likes of Twilight,

although she might beg to differ.

And she's written, I think maybe eight or ten books so far and

her shiver series has sold 1.8 million copies which is really hard for me to get my head

around when I'm talking to a 31 year old girl.

And she was also on the New York Times bestseller list for 40 weeks.

And she's had options now on making films out of these books so it was really cool I'm sitting down and

talking to Maggie she's very punchy she's a lot of fun she drives rally car races in her

spare time she's given a TED Talk for NASA. I mean, you know, she's a very all-around

cool girl with a lot to say and it's interesting to figure out how she writes. She lives I think on a farm in Virginia. She's going to

get some goat soon and she has a 73 Camaro. So it was really cool getting into

her head a little bit different than our typical author who was, you know, written a book about cognitive science or, you know, how to sell better.

So it was really cool having her energy in the studio
