I'm your host, retired NYPD sergeant Bill Cannon, a 27-year veteran of the NYPD.

You know, guys, this October 31st, which is Halloween,

is the 13th anniversary of myself retiring from the NYPD.

So when I say 27 years, it wasn't exactly 27 years.

I sort of rounded it off, but I've been retired from the NYPD this Halloween

for 13 years amazing. That I've been out that long. A lot of water under the bridge, a lot of

different things. I tried a lot of different things. I was a college professor for five and a half

years after I retired. Then I really tried different

things. I tried acting and stand-up comedy. And here I am. I wound up in the police off the cuff,

Real Crime Stories podcast. Anyway, folks, good show for you tonight. And the whole thing, it seems, every time it seems that Stefan Stearns is about to go away,

all of a sudden, he reappears in some way.

He reappears in sort of ugly ways.

And everything about this guy is ugly, you know?

It's just so hard to believe.

And just very recently, he's made a phone call to his mom and dad.

And it seems like this guy besides being just the one of the worst people I've

seen in my life, and I've seen a lot of bad people on this earth, he's one of the worst,

you know, and just his lying and this despicable nature of his character

or lack of character, really, is what I would say is that he has absolutely zero character.

I don't think he has told the truth probably in his entire life, you know.

And his parents, even though I wouldn't wish what happened to any human being on anyone,
