This is not proof that Apple is about to either disrupt an existing consumer electronics category or create a new one,

but it does make the odds sound better.

Bloomberg ran a piece on Friday saying that Apple's Chief Design Officer Johnny Ive has retaken

direct management of product design teams.

It was in 2015 that I've picked up the chief design officer title and started taking a less

hands-on approach to products.

Personally, I thought that was the beginning of a slow walk to the exit, And I am fine, having been mistaken. While I knew he was involved in

building Apple Park, I apparently didn't realize how much of his time that was still taking.

Now Bloomberg has an Apple spokesperson saying with the completion of Apple Park,

Apple's design leaders and teams are again reporting directly to Johnny Ive,

who remains focused purely on design.
