short enough for Apple at least not where China is concerned. Two stories sure to bother folks

with an eye on little things like human rights. First, the Financial Times thinks it knows

how Apple is catching up with demand for iPhone 10, compulsory overtime

for high school students building the phones in Jiang JU.

Both Apple and Fox Khan have acknowledged that some high school students did work over the 40 hour per week maximum allowed under Chinese law.

While an audit has confirmed that, no one seems to know how it happened. Well, they seem to know, but

their supposition seems odd. Quoting the report, six high school students told the Financial Times they routinely work 11-hour

days assembling the iPhone 10 at a factory in Chengju, China, which constitutes illegal overtime

for student interns under Chinese law.

The six said they were among a group of 3,000 students from

Shanghai Urban Rail Transit School

sent in September to work at the local factory run by Taiwan-based

Apple supplier Han High Precision Industry, better known as FoxCon. The students,

age 17 to 19, said they were told that a three-month stint at the factory was
