When's the last time Apple issued a press release announcing the availability of a software

developer kit?

Well, it was Tuesday.

Before that, though, it's been a while. This one is special. This one will allow

developers to start building apps for Apple Watch. Given the job of speaking the words

quoted in the press release.

Quoting those, Apple watches our most personal device ever and Watch Kit provides the

incredible iOS developer community with the tools they need to create exciting new experiences right on your wrist.

With the iOS 8.2 beta-sdK, developers can now start using watch kit to create breakthrough new

apps, glances, and actionable notifications designed for the innovative Apple Watch

interface and work with new technologies such as Force Touch, Digital Crown, and Taptic Engine.

There were also quotes from a number of businesses excited about landing on the device,

those included the

SPN, Instagram, and American Airlines. Apple ended the press release by saying

the iOS 8.2 SDK beta including Watch Kit is available immediately

for iOS developer program members at
