around the world overnight harken back to days of old. According to a piece from Mac rumors, thousands of customers

were waiting in line at Apple stores for iPhone 10S, iPhone 10S Max, and Applewatch Series 4. Hundreds of people were said by the piece to have lined up at

the Orchard Road store in Singapore. The scene was said to be similar in Berlin and

Austria. Things weren't as hopping at all locales though.

Broadcaster and tech commentator Trevor Long told me on Twitter that there were only about

five people in front of the Australian Apple Store

he visited at 6 a.m. by 7 a.m. that number had only grown to about 40 people and thanks to

Gazz on Twitter for pointing me Trevor's way.

At the time of the writing of the Mac Rumors piece, there were said to be few people

lining up at Apple stores in the States, but it was early. While I tend to think of such

lines as things of the past, there's reason they're not terribly surprising.
