If it's negative speculation built on a questionable

iPhone rumor it must be a day that ends in why. Barons had Key Bank

Capital Markets analyst Andy Hargreaves issuing a note late last week saying

that the iPhone Pro Premium Anniversary 8 Edition Edition X will not have touch ID and that will hurt the phone's adoption.

The Baron's piece on the note had Hargreaves writing

that supplier checks indicate the forthcoming device variously called iPhone 8 or iPhone X

won't have the touch ID function that allows for one's fingerprint to be read

and he thinks this will have a negative impact on appeal of the device.

In regards to Apple, wrote the analyst, we believe this will ultimately lead to disappointment

for more bullish investors but see positive risk reward near term.

It may be worth remembering that there are lots of reasons that the one

iPhone to rule them all might not sell well.

For starters, it's supposed to be more expensive.
