Apple started the week by going public on privacy.

The Cupertino Company issued a statement Monday outlining where it stands on PRISM, the U.S. government intelligence gathering apparatus or

invasion of privacy apparatus, whichever.

It also disclosed how many requests it's received from law enforcement over the last little

while involving customer data and what it does to keep said data on the down low.

In keeping with its almost immediate denial of knowledge of PRISM, Apple said in a statement,

we first heard of the government's PRISM program when news organizations asked us about it

on June 6.

We do not provide any government agency with direct access to our servers, and any government

agency requesting customer content must get a court order.
