There's something new to the air, True to Monday's 9 to 5 Mac rumor, Apple on Tuesday

updated its MacBook Air offerings. As expected, the company did move the machines to Intel's latest Haswell processors.

Nine to five had also expected Apple to change the storage capacities on the machine, which does not seem to have happened.

Though there was a surprise on Tuesday.

The Cupertino company lowered the prices on the devices by $100.

Finally, people can say Apple has a notebook that sells for under a thousand dollars with a straight face.

Quoted on Apple's Macbook Air announcement, Senior VP of Worldwide Product Marketing Phil The Thrill Schiller, who said with Macbook Air starting at $89,

there's no reason to settle for anything less than a Mac.

Macs have never been more popular, and today we boosted the performance and lowered the price of

Macbook air so even more people can experience the perfect everyday notebook.

Statements like that that make him the VP of marketing, huh?
