Tim Cook's Mayakulpa seems to have done the trick with China. I told you yesterday of the

Apple CEO issuing an apology to consumers in China for the company's perceived arrogance.

Cook also announced changes to the warranty policies

for the iPhone and iPhone 4S and finally he kind of played the dumb American or the head of a

dumb American company. Quoting that part of his statement, we recognize that we have much to learn about operating

and communicating in China, but we want to assure everyone that we bring the same deep commitment

and passion to China as we do to any other part of the world.

Humble yourself in the sight of the overlords and they shall lift you up.

Reuters Peace says with its rare apology Apple went from Pariah to praise-worthy in the eyes of China's

state-controlled media, a lesson for other foreign firms not to underestimate the speed and power of the government

press.

Apple was subject to just over two weeks of seriously bad press at the hand of China's

state-controlled media.

It issued an apology on April 1st.
