Wall Street types are typing away.

Barons on Monday had notes from Nemura analyst Jeffrey Koval and UBS analyst Steve

Melunovich. Starting with Nemura, Koval thinks the anticipated 4-inch iPhone

is being aimed at emerging markets.

As such, he thinks it'll likely be a hobbled device

unattractive to buyers and more affluent economies.

Quoting his note, we do not expect huge unit volumes for iPhone SE, only in the range of $10 to $20 million over the first year.

Instead, we believe Apple will segment the markets and thus retain its developed markets average selling prices.

We expect Apple to effectively segment the market with a feature set that is less appealing

to its current customer base to retain its average selling price structure, this is a risk for Apple.

Its 5C had too few features to justify but a mild $100 average selling price reduction

versus the high-end products and thus did not sell well.

One wonders however on what he's basing that expectation.

Most of the rumors around the phone have it running on par with the iPhone 6 ass, with 3D touch and a larger screen size being the only missing features.

Well, Kavall can't get excited about iPhone SE, he's got a buy rating on Apple shares and a price target of $135.

That's because he knows there's an iPhone 7 on the way.
