Updates for iOS devices including Apple TV started the week.

A number of sites including the Mac Observer hit with Word midday Monday

that Apple had released iOS 7.1 for iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches.

iPods touch? Whatever.

Lots of new features, according to the piece, the biggest of which will be useless to almost everyone on the planet for now

Chief among the new features according to TMO is the official rollout of car play, which was just officially announced last week,

and which is only available on three rather high-priced cars.

There are probably nine or ten people driving around the planet right now.

Totally stoked though.

Other parts of the OS that got some TLC include Siri that

PYT.

Newness there lets users push to talk let go to stop for Apple's virtual assistant

rather than it just guessing when a user's done speaking.

Additionally the helper got new more natural sounding male and female voices for Mandarin Chinese, UK English,

Australian English and Japanese according to Apple. New features for iTunes radio include

the addition of a search field above featured stations for more easily making stations based on artists or songs.

Users can now buy albums with the tap of a button from the now playing section of the interface

and finally users can subscribe to iTunes match on their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to listen

to iTunes radio without listening to ads. The calendar
