While you won't be able to get an Apple watch until April, there are two places you can see it now.

On the cover of Self- Magazine and in the price of shares of

watchmaker Fossil. Starting with the competition the street says Fossil

shares took a beating on Wednesday. The company warned of trouble ahead thanks to Applewatch

though they didn't mention Applewatch by name. On the company's earnings called

Tuesday night, Fossil CFO Dennis Seacor said,

we see opportunities in developing new categories like

wearable tech and growing existing categories such as branded jewelry and

leather.

These opportunities do not come without challenges.

While notable newcomers can help grow the market by bringing new customers into the category,

they might also cause some near-term disruption.

Managing the natural ebbs and flows, the brand life cycle can also prove challenging.
