Sitting in for James O'Brien, if that's the man he were expecting, I do apologize, but

James will be back after his holidays. And thank you, James, for an excellent show yesterday.

He did come in exceptionally yesterday. And I stood aside because, of course, it is slot, and he

wanted to address the Dominic Cummings issue. And that issue, Dominic Cummings, and the speech he gave,

will be moving to next.

But actually, I want to kick off with the Prime Minister's speech.

And I'll explain to you why, for those of you who are expecting me to kick off with a coming speech,

actually it's part of my introduction, which is the following.

I feel it's important that if yesterday the Prime Minister gave a speech about opening the economy

and his special advisor gave a speech explaining without apology what he did,

it behooves us actually to understand that what the Prime Minister announced as well

affects people and the lives of millions of people in this country,

with the economy slowly easing and moving towards opening up.

And it's important that we don't actually lose sight of the ball here as well,

which is to focus on some of the substance of what the PM announced.

We will address the Cummings issue as well on this show,

and that will be coming up afterwards. We'll open the linesmings issue as well on this show, and that

will be coming up afterwards. We'll open the lines on that too. You'll hear my reaction to his speech.

I can tell you my jaw had dropped to the floor. I've actually reconciled myself to this issue now

to begin talking about it while laughing at all the jokes I'm telling simultaneously in my head about what I'm saying

...
