So today we're talking about Daniel.

Let's start with our three key questions.

How does this bring me closer to Christ?

How does the book of Mormon help me understand the Old Testament?

And how does this help me live a more Christ-like life?

So who is Daniel?

Well, the nice thing about this book is it's still in fairly chronological order. You know,

we've just had Jeremiah, who is a prophet in Jerusalem at the time of the Babylonian captivity,

and then Ezekiel, a prophet in Babylon. And and now we have Daniel who is taken from Jerusalem

to Babylon and his prophetic career is 70 years long and we learn that he is a very young boy

at the time that he's taken. Now it's a little bit tricky because the book has been edited so many

times and I don't think the person who did the editing really was a contemporary because he gets the history mixed up sometimes.

And one of the problems is he says in chapter one that it's the time of the siege.

Well, Jerusalem was not sieged when the first group was taken captive.

The first people that were taken

were these bright, intelligent princes, the people that had a lot of aptitude, had a lot of

potential to learn. And so they were taken to Babylon for this fabulous academic opportunity,
