i hope you're all well somewhere flourishing and hopefully not in as much need of recovery as I am. I had to watch

the State of the Union last night. I guess had to is a bit strong of a phrase, but had committed

to doing an appearance on John Fuglesang show. And I had fully planned on watching Roland Martin,

State of the Union. I wanted to watch the working

families party, State of the Union. But I was like, all right, you know, I want to be a good serious X-M community member. And John Fuglesang is super dope. He's on the Progress Channel, Channel 127. I know a lot of y'all never move off of 126, for those of you who listen to Urban View. But he is on Channel 127. And he's pretty dope. And I've been looking forward to having a conversation with him

and this was the first opportunity we were able to do it so I watched the state of the union and I think

I'm in recovery I was just sharing in a quick little minute that I was engaged in talking with the folks

in my online platform Sankofa connections and those telling them that like staying up late to watch the State of the Union and having my spirit filled with all of the fagaziness of that night or of that speech, I should say, when at the same time, like recognizing that I was not watching the things I wanted to be watching, which were things that were concerning us in the state of our union. And then to wake up this

morning, and it was more snow. And my kids, school was delayed two hours. I'm like, I've had it. I've had it. So I'm in a bit of a state. And so because of that, I'm not going to start with the state of the lion union that y'all heard or saw clips of last night. I want to talk about the state of our union. And shout out to the NAACP, the national organization, and they had put out a state

of the black union when it comes to really in-depth reporting on what's happening right now.

I was really grateful to get this article because it really talks about policy violence

and anti-blackness, which is quite frankly part and parcel of what's happening
