First of all, how did this come to happen?

Do you tell a story about Vic Muniz, but how long have you guys known each other?

I'd first become familiar with his work as a photographer back when I lived in New York City. I was a big fan and then somebody said, oh, you should meet him.

And when I met him, it was always with a sort of dream of making a film together.

But I don't like those films about artists where they just survey a career.

I think that's sort of a bit boring and sort of just not good sort of structured

movie experiences. And so he and I, he liked my work. I liked his work and the question was always

could we make a movie together? And so we had excited conversation sort of just roaming about all

kinds of subjects and me sort of

covertly grilling him about what sort of getting to know him, but also with a view to how we

might collaborate actually and come out with a movie.
