Welcome to The Treatment. I'm Elvis Mitchell. It's always good to have an old friend on the show, even though it's a friend who hasn't done the show before.

My guest, of course, is directed at the film's A Bigger Splash, protagonist.

And his new film, Call Me By Your Name, I guess, of course, is Luca Oguan.

And I guess, look, I guess what I want to talk to you about is something we talked about a little bit a few days ago, is the idea of physical contact, also people who are kind of uncomfortable with it.

We can say that's a bit of the issue for Tilda in a bigger splash.

And you tell me about why physical contact means so much to you.

Well, I believe that we express ourselves more in our body language than in what we say,

more in what we don't say, and how we act in the space, than more in what we say.

So for me, to observe someone and to see where and when this person will clash with

another person, it's so alluring, it's so fascinating.

It tells me a lot about human nature, and I think I am a behavioralist. I like to follow behavior

in people, both in life and in movies. So for me, everything goes through that. I'm not a great

believer in lines of dialogue, to be honest. I think that dialogue should be treated as a sort

of sound, part of the soundtrack of a film.

But what happens when you see someone doing something in order to reach someone else?

It's what interests me a lot.
