So you've got a culture of people giving and a culture of kindness. Even when people on the first day at work with us, when they come in, we said, this is what the family is about, this is what the business is about, it's giving. So there's a blank check for £100. What is it you draw on us to give to? So if you're generous and kind with values and some structure, you can create a culture that I think is reflective, the leadership style you're supposed to see in the Bible. and it is attractive.

So I had a lot of joy in trying to follow what I think the Bible tells you about leadership and then translated that into running a business.

Thank you very much having me. Great to have you. So, Peter, I'm not going to tell a story for him, but he's a businessman. He's an investor. He's passionate about leadership and faith in the marketplace, philanthropist, all that stuff.

And Joanna Connor, who is doing superb work

in prisons, contacted me a few weeks ago and say, come on, get Peter on. And I'm really looking

forward to this. So go on then, Peter, just your name, I mean, if any of us has bought a car in the last,

I don't know, 30, 30 years, it's not unlikely that we went to a Vardy dealership, is it? So tell us the backstory of faith and family. Go for it. Well, we kind of hope you did go to our garage as that was always the hope. Our name is synonymous with Jamie Vardy, the footballer. She sometimes gets asked or we related and we're not. And then obviously selling cars over the years. So I'm the third generation,

which is always the dangerous one, of car salesmen. So my grandfather, Reds Friday, which is the name

people might know, because that was on the front of Sunday football shirts and a number of different

cities across the UK. So that was my granddad's name. My dad ran that business, really, and grew it.

He was a bit of a genius in our trade anyway, very clever man.

So he grew that business from six people to six thousand.

Wow.

And then that got sold and I was just coming through the ranks,

learning my trade, and we were all put out of the building,

which is quite unusual.

And then I started again and started with a business in Scotland, whereas I was kind of
