| 0:00.0 | Good evening, everybody. How are y'all doing? Welcome to the show. We got a great show plan for you. I actually have a, uh, I wish I could send a picture or post a picture of what the, my recording area looks like. I have stuff everywhere. There's often so much I want to talk about. I don't even get through half of it. Um, so I've got a hodgepodge of stuff we're going to talk about tonight. |
| 0:21.1 | Super stoked on all of it. |
| 0:22.5 | You know, a lot of the themes that get brought in indirectly and directly, |
| 0:26.4 | and really come out of my clinical practice and clinical experience, |
| 0:28.8 | almost two decades of doing this work, sex, relationship, psychology, mental health. |
| 0:34.5 | And, you know, what I get to see that's both good and bad is some of the same |
| 0:39.5 | issues constantly being brought in and bumped into and struggled with and good because it means |
| 0:44.5 | repetitions necessary and that hitting some of the same things over and over on the show are going |
| 0:49.0 | to be what we need to hear and be reminded of because that's part of it. We hear something. |
| 0:53.4 | It's meaningful. |
| 0:58.9 | It penetrates. Sometimes forever we carry it with us. There are some sound bites of reminders that are very accessible in front of mind. But then sometimes they drift and it weakens, |
| 1:03.1 | which is why after some really powerful sessions, I'll tell clients, now sit after our session |
| 1:09.8 | and just really savor it. I know that's an odd word |
| 1:12.8 | because we usually apply that to food and taste, but we want to psychologically and mentally |
| 1:17.7 | savor it, really internalize it, really build it in. And I also say sometimes write that down, |
| 1:22.7 | go journal or write down a few things you want to remember because even though it feels so close and so |
| 1:29.1 | powerful right now as time goes on that weakens and we can drift or forget exactly how it was said |
| 1:35.0 | or what it was that we want to be really taking with us. So I say that about the show as well. |
| 1:41.7 | If something was meaningful, come back and listen to the episode or write down some of the sound bites or headlines. |
| 1:47.2 | And that's why on the show there's some forms of repetition because it's all about building in. We have so much to unlearn. And we have so much to then replace that unlearning with. So it's about, it truly is about repetition repetition I'm a big fan of it and um okay so |
| 2:04.9 | a thousand things I wanted to talk about I wanted to share some research on dating it's not |
| 2:11.6 | necessarily we're going to talk about all night but there are people that are you know |
