I want to say a huge welcome to everybody who's in overflow in the lobby.

Don't like that you have to experience church from out there.

We're working toward solutions, but grateful that you're all in on this moment of worship with us

and feel so confident that God has something so specific to speak into people's lives today. I don't know why, but all morning I have felt

like I don't need to just jump into this sermon and end this series without us having a moment

to speak to somebody in the room who is close to that place of burnout in their faith.

And when Alex talks about what happened to him in 2010, I'll just say I've had moments

where I've seen symptoms of something similar in my own life. And the only reminder that

gets to the core of that issue is this.

And I wrote this down this morning for somebody in the room.

You might want to write it down.

It has nothing to do with dating or marriage or anything.

Everything has to do with dating and marriage.

But God didn't send Jesus because he needed more workers.

God sent Jesus because he wanted sons and daughters.

God didn't send Jesus because he needed more workers.

God sent Jesus because his desire was that we would become sons and daughters of God.

And there's some of you in this room who have flipped the two.

And maybe it's just me in the room, but way too often I relate to God on the basis of what he's

called me to do for him instead of on the basis of who he's called me to be

as his child your work for god is god's gift to you not god's obligation for you and if it's not

being experienced as a gift let me just remind you that god is very good at doing what God does and he could so
