My guest this week is the author, script writer, performer and former doctor, Adam K. His

writing credits include work on very British stalwarts such as Michelin Webb, Blind

Dates and Mrs. Brown's Boys.

But it is the storytelling of his own experience that has made him a household name.

This is going to hurt the diaries of his time as a junior doctor, Chronicles the Hilarious,

Bizarre, Grotesque, Exorsting, Infuriating, Beautiful and sometimes tragic experiences

of his life working in the NHS.

It is an extraordinarily gripping read that will move you both to tears of hysterical laughter

and of sadness.

It has sold over a million copies, has won four national book awards and was a Sunday

Times number one best seller for eight months.

Now he's on the road, selling out the nation's biggest theatrical venues, reading entries

from a book that has been described as a love letter to our national health service.

I was writing these diaries, not just diaries, it was, you're obliged to get loads of

different types of notes when you're a doctor.

So obviously you're writing your patients notes, but you also keep a log of stuff, you

get your MOT once a year and they'll say, you know, the deniery, who are the sort of

the people who check that you're progressing adequately, want to see your paperwork.
