Summary

From the series "Gospel of Matthew." In this well-known but little-understood teaching of Jesus, we discover that love is the measure of spiritual maturity. Nothing else. And that Jesus’s definition of love is very different from that of our host culture. Yet again, Jesus’ life and vision is incredibly compelling and offers us a new way to be human.

Matthew chapter 22 verse 34 to 40.

Hearing that Jesus had silenced the sadgesies, the Pharisees got together.

One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question, teacher, Rabbi, which

is the greatest commandment in the law?

Jesus replied, love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul

and with all your mind.

This is the first and greatest commandment.

And the second is like it.
