You've had an interesting week, actually. I have. You want to tell the shandies? I had my once a decade jury duty.

Yes. But I had to go to. Put it off long enough. Yes. They said this is it. And you have a funny story. Please tell them the story.

Yeah. Well, you know, the thing about jury duty is you go to jury duty and then you get picked to be in a voir dire. Which I have to mean, I didn't understand that about you. Yeah, you thought I went right to a jury. I thought that if you get called for jury duty, you just go on to a jury. Because I've never done jury duty. I texted Charlene for the first day of jury duty. And she's like, how are you texting me? I thought I was already about to convict someone of murder.

Anyway, so that's not how it works, but I was picked to be in jury selection.

So they pick a bunch of people and they put them in a room and then the attorneys go one by one

and ask them all questions and figure out if they're going to be acceptable to the defense. If they're impartial enough. Impartial enough. Exactly. And both sides have to agree. So, you know, what invariably happens is you get these people who either, you know, are looking for more excitement in their lives or need an audience of some kind. Yes. And they just start talking. So it's a simple question. So the attorney is

sitting, you know, everyone, everyone's miserable at jury duty. Yeah. There's not, you look around, you don't see a single person who's like, ooh, this is fun. Everyone's miserable. But you get to have your phone. You know, but everyone, it's like, it's like a low level misery. It's not like everyone's like in, it's like in prison.

Yeah.

It's like they're being torture.

I mean, isn't it kind of like a day off?

So anyway, my point is that everyone's unhappy. But then you'll get these people where the attorney will ask them a question. And they're like, do you think you could be unbiased in a trial where, you know, someone is suing a real estate company? Instead of just saying like, you know, yes, I can be unbiased. Or no, I'm going to be biased, which is a specific thing that I need to talk to you about and I'm going to leave. Instead, sometimes I'm like, well, I think I could be biased.

I'm not sure. And then it becomes a conversation. So then they started talking like, well, I have a friend who used to work in real estate. And, you know, I sometimes think about him fondly. And I'm not sure. You know, I'll try. I'll do my best. And you're like, shut up. everyone's waiting.
