Well, John, biblical love is selfless, just like that paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 13 describes.

And even though it's simple enough for a child to understand, it can be difficult to live out on a day-to-day basis, especially in challenging circumstances.

And today we want to feature a story about selfless love, the kind of love that we see in Jesus Christ and how He loves each one of us.

Today's speaker is a great example of that selfless love. His name is Robertson McWilkin. He served for 22 years as president of Columbia International University before leaving that position to care for his wife, Miriel.

But I'll let him tell you how that came about. This is an amazing story of loyalty and devotion. And you know, we just don't hear enough stories like this one.

As am I Jim, and with that, let's go ahead and hear now from Dr. Robertson McWilkin on Focus on the Family.

I want to know a girl. She didn't try to draw me to her. She just did.

Not only me, but many other males. The first thing that caught my eye about her was her pretty face.

But soon I discovered that she had a personality to go with it. Vivalious, full of laughter, talented in art and music, smart, but a best of all.

She was an exuberant lover of God. I love that woman. But I wasn't too good at expressing it. So she taught me. In fact, she taught me many things about love.

And that's what I wanted to tell you about. Six things, Miriel, taught me about love.

My parents were of the old school. They didn't believe in expressing affection, especially in public.

I never saw my parents embrace, for example. I'm pretty sure they did. Here I am.
