I probably should say that on occasion. I am your host, Heather. And who is this, Ms. Heather?

Who is this person? And I haven't done this in a while. So I'm just going to briefly mention this.

I have struggled with weight my entire life

I was really skinny up until I was probably about five and then I just started to really pack on weight

I would eat sugar out of the sugar bowl I'd eat toothpaste when nobody was looking like I would sneak

food all the time and I really dealt with my emotions through food and I gained weight. And then I did a really

restrictive diet in high school. I did what a lot of people do. I got really restrictive. And I lost

like 80 pounds in six months. And then I had this binge eating behavior that was happening. And actually

very first time I've ever binge, I was about eight, nine years old, and I was at a block party. And I would just be standing by the brownie slash cookie table. And every time somebody wasn't licking, I'd eat another one and another one. And I finally ate so much that day that I remember getting to the point of nausea and never having had that experience

before I didn't, didn't know what to make of it. But that was the beginning of me struggling with

my binge eating. And then I gained, of course, all the weight back that I lost in high school and

another 90 pounds because when you don't get your binge eating under control, when you are constantly having these

lower brain thoughts, which again, I didn't know at the time. That's what this was, but that's what it was.

And thinking that, you know, life isn't fair. You know, you've got, you're seeing yourself in as a victim

role. You're dealing with everything you're feeling

with food. I just ate my way up to over 300 pounds. And my wake up call really came when I got

pregnant with my first son when I was 30. And I decided that I couldn't do the extreme things anymore. I wasn't going to be super restrictive

and I was going to focus on habits because I had really worked with kids for quite a while.

I was either a preschool teacher or a middle school teacher or I worked with at-risk youth.

And what I knew was I could tell my kid all day long, eat your vegetables, don't have all that pizza.
