mirror. Quite the opposite, actually. You're heavily focused on the road ahead, largely because

of the parlous state of UK politics. Later today, this podcast will be released on Monday, two or three days hence,

but later today, you'll be on a stage where a former Conservative Prime Minister,

John Major, will essentially urge people not to return a Conservative Prime Minister to Downey Street.

Is it possible to exaggerate how unprecedented this playing field is now?

Not in recent history, and I know of no precedent at all,

but it is an indication of the gravity of the situation

and the enormity of the decision that is about to be taken in the ensuing election.
