If you look back at the course of history, the big idea is the one that changed fields

of science who transform industries rarely arrive with blaring trumpets or red carpets

dazzling everybody with their brilliance.

They're usually dismissed or neglected for years, sometimes even decades, and their champions

are written off as crazy.

There wasn't any good word in English language to capture that, so I made one up.

I'm Rufus Briskum, and this is the next big idea.
