Today's 10 minute walk is helping both of us remain fitness consistent.

Hi, I'm Dave. Let's go for a walk.

So the other day I was out walking was actually not too far from where I am right now.

Walking along a main road through the community where we live.

It is early in the morning.

It's pre-sunrise, so traffic hasn't really picked up much yet.

But as I turn around, I can see the center of town.

There's some shops, restaurants, that sort of thing. And I was

walking through the center of town. And there was a gentleman who was walking a dog who was

approaching me. We were on the same side of the street on the same sidewalk. And I'm walking

toward him and he's walking toward me and he has a dog was on a leash. And the gentleman was,

as he was walking and holding the leash to the dog, he was looking at his phone. And this has happened before, many times actually, where I've been walking,

someone's approaching me and they're looking at their phone.

And inevitably, they look up well before they reach me and they adjust so they're not

walking directly into my path and usually we'll exchange

greetings and continue on but I'm watching this guy and he's walking toward me

holding the leash looking at his phone and I'm waiting for him to look up and he doesn't until the very last second.

He was almost right next to me and I guess I entered his peripheral vision and he probably

had that little bit of adrenaline spike. He was like, whoop, danger.

And he looked up, and I could tell he was startled.

And he sort of mumbled something of an apology

because he wasn't paying attention.
