And here on Friday, hope it's a payday for you. It's been a busy week, man.

It's been a really busy week. That's some big news today we're going to talk about.

And some negative things have happened this week, too, man. And listen, I hate to get the show off on a somber note,

but man, that's how life is sometimes, right?

Man, we just found out yesterday we lost Johnny Cooks.

And, you know, for those of you that, you know,

you young bucks perhaps don't appreciate, you know,

maybe due to your age, it's not disrespect, right? I mean, you know,

it's just reality of life, but Johnny Cook's one of the greatest players to ever play at

Mississippi State in any sport. He was the number two pick in the draft with the Indianapolis

Colts. He was on that great Mississippi State team to beat number one Alabama back in 1980.

An absolute legend was still very plugged in with Mississippi State Athletics. When he was in town,

you could find him at times over at the Humphrey Coliseum pulling for the basketball bulldogs.

Johnny is an icon of Mississippi State sports. And Johnny has been ill for some

time. We've kind of watched that. You know, it's one of those things, man. It's a shame we all got

to get old. It's a good thing. Most of us are good looking. But, man, you hated it, you know,

because Johnny was such an incredible athlete and had some complications related to diabetes.

And it was a very, very sad undertaking. It sure was.

And Johnny, an amazing man, and I had a chance to spend some time with him over the last few years at some M-Club events.

And even though it had been forever in a day since he played,

the smile on his face when he'd be around his teammates is something that I'll always remember.
