and I'm joined by the CEO of the Bumblebee Conservation Trust Jill Perkins

a fascinating found of all knowledge regarding the not so humble bumble bee as I discovered

actually when I met her at a fundraising event which was so very fascinating I asked her to come on the

show to share the love and the passion for these prolific pollinators.

And under Jill's leadership, the trust is on a mission to keep our bumblebees buzzing across the UK,

with so many exciting projects including

building a huge 10,000 hectares of sustainable bee-friendly habitat.

Have you always been the fan?

I can see that B is going to be a bit of a pun now.

Every time I say the word B is going to make me smile.

Have you always been a fan of the B?

Not particularly bees.

I actually trained in conservation and botany, so it was flowers that caught my attention first. So, and it was my father that got me interested in nature and being out in nature. He was a frustrated

gamekeeper, worked in marketing in the aircraft industry.

Very different. I know, but every Sunday he would take us out on walks across the fields and try and get me and my sisters

interested in the birds and the flowers and I don't think anybody really knows what they want to do when they leave school do they?

But I knew one thing that I wanted to work outside in nature.

So I followed my passion in conservation and did an ecology and conservation degree, but you know how life takes you off in different directions.

I actually, for most of my career, we have spent in a small business lobbying organization and politics.
