| 0:00.0 | Welcome to One Minute Scripter Study, a Come Follow Me podcast. |
| 0:05.0 | We are your host, Kristen Walker-Smith and Callie Black. |
| 0:09.2 | Hey, it's Callie Black here with today's thought. Let's open up to Numbers, Chapter 21, verse 8. |
| 0:16.0 | The Israelites had been wandering for a long time, but they had seen some amazing miracles. The Lord had |
| 0:24.2 | just saved them from an attack from their enemies. However, immediately after being saved, |
| 0:31.0 | the Israelites started to complain. All of this wandering was taking so long. There wasn't any good food to eat. God was going to let them die in the wilderness. |
| 0:43.7 | In response to their ingratitude, selfishness, and pride, the Lord sent a plague of fiery serpents to the Israelites, killing many of them. They pleaded with their prophet Moses |
| 0:58.5 | to find a way to get rid of the plague. And in Numbers chapter 21, verse 8, we read, and the Lord said unto Moses, |

| 1:13.6 | bitten when he looketh upon it shall live. The Israelites learned that the solution to their |
| 1:22.5 | bitterness and ingratitude was to look to a serpent made of brass. |
| 1:29.5 | Just like the Israelites and their brass serpent, |
| 1:32.1 | we too can find a simple solution to our sins of ingratitude, |
| 1:39.1 | impatience, and pridefulness. |
| 1:42.1 | We need to look to Jesus. Even when we are tempted to murmur and complain about |
| 1:49.4 | all the ways we think he has left us and life is miserable, the answer truly is to simply |
| 1:59.6 | turn toward Jesus and let him take away the sting of our problems. |
| 2:06.3 | So the takeaway of the day, in five words or less, Jesus cures ingratitude. |
| 2:13.6 | Thanks for being here today and for coming closer to Christ with me one minute at a time. |
| 2:19.2 | Friend, if you love this podcast, you are going to love this. |
| 2:22.8 | For the very first time, our one-minute scripture study book is going to include dates. |
| 2:28.3 | Yes, for 2026 as we dive into the Old Testament, every day is dated and and it is spiral bound. It's going to be |
