All right, you guys, this is going to be a special long run episode with a capital S special.

And that's because it's Kara Goucher.

Now, Kara is very famous and a little bit beyond.

She's out of our league.

Okay, we're hitting outside her coverage, but she agreed to come on the show in connection with promoting the paperback release of her book The longest race inside the secret world of abuse doping and deception in Nike's elite running team.

Now I'm going to give you a little bit of bio info because I didn't have as much time to go deep, deep,

deep into her life story and talk about her accolades.

So let me tell you a little bit about who

Kara Goucher is or what she's done more importantly. She was the 10,000

meters silver medalist in the 2007 world championships. She's a two-time

Olympian. She came in third at Boston. She has a 224 marathon PR.

And she's married to Adam Goucher of the Running with the Buffalo's book that we read in the book club.

And that coach from that book her coach

Mark I think it's Mark yeah Mark Wetmore he's her current coach so there's like a

connection there to the story that you read.

After that, before that, she had been coached by Alberto Salazar.

Actually, it's before and after.

That's an important distinction.

Anyway, and we've talked about him before on the show in terms of the Oregon Project and

it being closed down, allegations of, you know, all kinds of, you know, misconduct and cheating.

And then in the book itself, there's allegation just to kind of set the table of

sexual abuse between him and her and a lot of creepy conduct and physical
