Tonight's Twilight Zone begins with some gentle music, some light-hearted, affectionate

banter between a man and his elderly mother as he leads her down the stairs, and a five-year-old

boy blowing out the candles on his birthday cake.

What could be more pleasant?

The boy who is named Billy obviously has a close relationship with his grandmother,

Grandma Bales, and this draws a few slightly disapproving but accepting looks from the boy's parents.

Grandma Bail's dotes on Billy and she can't contain her happiness.

I like to say something. Could I say something?

Sure.

My little Billy, my wonderful little boy, he gave me life again.

An old woman, good for nothing no more, but to complain.

He held out his hands to me and made me alive.

Why are you crying, Grandma?

I don't know my angel.

Maybe because I won't be here with you for very long.

Why?

I will be away. Where?

Nowhere, Billy.

Grandma's going to be right here next year and the year after that.
