They're visiting with Joseph Sternberg who writes political economics column. He's based

in London for the Wall Street Journal editorial board. We go to the headlines in the Wall Street

Journal in these last hours. Inflation eases to 6.4%, but pace of moderation slow is subhead.

Lewis inflation moderated only slightly last month on an annual basis as price increases

firmed up at the start of the year. Joseph, this is monetary policy and there's something

of witchcraft about it because you're talking about the future or without a crystal ball

on the basis of the past. Right now, inflation is high. 6.4% would scare anybody except for

when it was 6.5. The Federal Reserve says its target is 2% inflation, which means I think

that we're not close to a victory here. However, in these last weeks, there have been

fanciful interpretations of where we are in the monetary cycle. The one I love, well,
