And we're going to address Germany.

Olaf Schulz, the Chancellor of Germany,

and his government is a coalition. So we're speaking to the Reichstag, to the German people,

that they're doing something right. I know. It's an outlier position, but we're going to

take it. Joe, a very good evening to you.

Germany's doing something right, and it begins with the Zaitin-Vendna speech of February

2022.

How so?

Hey, John, it's military spending, if you can believe it.

I mean, you're absolutely right to prepare listeners for a shock if we are going to talk about

Germany doing the right thing on military spending but it is happening.

So Germany, Europe's largest economy should be an anchor of the North Atlantic

Treaty organization really thinks of itself as an anchor and a major

participant in NATO.

Military spending has lacked for years.

They were way, way below the target that NATO is set for its members of spending 2% of GDP on defense each year and devoting 20% of that spending to equipment and procurement.

So we get to the invasion of Ukraine in February of 2022 and a few days later Chancellor
