we're going off to the theater but we're reflecting on what you'd have to say at

this point in the 21st century is a definite derision

towards the word colonization, a definite disdain towards people who were once understood as

colonials.

A antithetical to our understanding here in Rome in the first century.

Colonies are what Rome did very well after the army pacified, neutralized,

or in some instances just wiped out anything that was near at hand.

So I offer this example recently discovered in the 21st century something we knew about.

A Roman army, a garrison, was moving into winter quarters in 9 AD during Augustus

in 9 AD during Augustus' time and was ambushed by a gathering

of what we call German nationalists, tribes that came together for 20 minutes to wipe out two

legions or more.

At the same time, there was a settlement called Waldoermas nearby, not far, that had no garrison.

It was a Roman town built out of nothing, completely out of the forest. Basilica, Forum, Shops, A Statue of Augustus, Baths, Housing,

North-South Road, East-West Road, Gates Open, gathering all the food in the region.

In other words, the first step towards colonizing Germany.

The same thing we did, we Romans did in Britain. Colonized after the Salurys fought

so hard, that's modern Wales. We colonized them by moving them from their very strong fortresses in the hills to Ventus

Saluris, a town that we built on the plane.

Again, North-South Road, Basilica Forum, Statute to Augustus, well in that time. It was also a statue to

Claudius who'd seen himself remembered as the conqueror of Britain.
