Imagine losing $1.6 billion and sounding pretty jazzed about it.

Gentlemen, defense giant Lockheed Martin, full disclosure, my wife used to work there, but not in many years,

just reported a rare and huge quarterly loss of $1.6 billion, but CEO James D. Takedlitt sounded

unfazed thanks to a magical, that was his word, by the way, magical classified aeronautics program

that he says will create a, another quote, a game-changing capability for our joint U.S. and international customers.

What he didn't say on the quarterly call with investors is what that program is.

Bill, I want to start with you on this one.

Lockheed started this program.

By the way, it started with a fixed price contract back in 2018 during the first Trump administration, and they

have plowed so much of their own cash into it that they had to take a $1.6 billion hit last

quarter.

But Ticklett says it's worth taking the loss now because whatever this program is, again, these

are his words, it's going to be in high demand for a very long time, well beyond the fixed price commitments.

So, Bill, I got to ask, what do you think this is?

Are we looking at an AI drone swarm, global strike spaceplane, sharks with freaking laser beams?

What's your theory?

Well, I'm kind of hoping that it's a series of small little caps that Donald Trump can fit over his fingertips and shoot bolts of lightning out of.

That would be wicked, cool.

I don't know.
