This week I went to prison.

Luckily, they let me out again, to speak to inmates and the Justice

Secretary Liz Truss about the crisis in Britain's jails.

I was also joined by Diane Abbott, the Shadow Home Secretary, to talk about the abuse that she

receives on a daily basis, as well as Brexit and the state of the Labour Party.

Riots, violence and suicide are all on the rise in Britain's prisons.

And according to the Prison Governors Association, the system is in meltdown.

So what's the government going to do about it?

Well, this week I visited HMP Tempsside and I asked inmates there what they think should be done. Definitely more staff.

A lot more, I think a lot more stuff than what he's been proposed. And I think that will make

a huge difference. You know, it's not going to actually clean up the streets of crime, but I think it will make a huge difference. You know, it's not going to actually clean up the streets of crime,
