Our Father, we turn to you and look to you for wisdom in how to understand your word.

Help us to understand the truth of it and to apply it to our lives rightly.

All right, 2nd Peter 1, 3 through 4. Now remember yesterday we read the beginning of this and it says Jesus' divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and

godliness. So yesterday we pondered the reality that the same power that Jesus used to raise

himself from the dead is what has

granted us everything we need to live a godly life. And next, Peter begins to reveal how that happens.

He says, through the knowledge of him, who called us to his own glory and excellence.

All right, so our life of godliness that we're all wanting to live comes about through our

knowledge of Jesus, who called us to his own glory and excellence.
